Andy Sandler

Chairman and CEO

Andy Sandler is an entrepreneur, business leader and lawyer. He leads Temerity Capital Partners, the Sandler family office and private investment company, which invests in and advises early-stage companies developing new technologies in financial services.  Andy is Board Chair of Temerity companies Asurity Technologies, which focuses on mortgage compliance technology, RiskExec, a leading fair lending analytics SaaS software provider, and Digital Pay, a cutting-edge payments technology provider.  He is a senior partner at the Mitchell Sandler law firm and founder of Asurity Advisors, a financial services industry consulting firm and Asurity Academy, a compliance training and conference company.   He previously founded and led the Buckley Sandler law firm and Treliant Risk Advisors which he sold in 2017.

Andy now focuses much of his time on sports team ownership and real estate development. He leads Temerity Baseball, which owns and operates three  professional baseball teams: the Greensboro Grasshoppers, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers and Lexington Legends. He is actively engaged in stadium-adjacent mixed use and hotel development projects in each City where he owns teams.

Andy was named a Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year finalist for his representation of the Navajo Nation in breach of trust litigation with the United States in which Andy and his colleagues achieved a $554 million settlement for the Navajo.  HousingWire has recognized Andy with its Vanguard Award, naming him as “one of the biggest names in the housing industry” for his leadership roles in legal and advisory services and in building technology companies and Legal Times has named Andy as a “Legal Visionary” for his law firm leadership.

Andy is the founder of The Sandler Family Foundation which focuses its philanthropy on health and welfare, social entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and inclusive democracy. He holds J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Wharton School of Business, an M.A. from the University of Warwick (Rotary Foundation Fellow), and a B.A. from Union College. Andy and his wife Andrea,  managing partner at Mitchell Sandler,  find their greatest joy spending time with their five children and three grandchildren and traveling.  When not at a ballpark, Andy is mostly likely to be found on a tennis court.
