CBJ: Development near Greensboro Grasshoppers’ ballpark

The owner of the Greensboro Grasshoppers baseball team and First National Bank Field has big plans for the ballpark, and he’s continuing a partnership with a seasoned developer to make things happen.
Andy Sandler is president and CEO of Temerity Baseball, which bought the Grasshoppers in January. His company also owns the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers and seeks out “stadium-adjacent development opportunities,” according to its website. In Kannapolis, the Cannon Ballers’ newly built Atrium Health Ballpark helped spark a dramatic transformation in the downtown area.
Sandler has similar aspirations in the Triad, recently announcing he will work with Winston-Salem’s Front Street Capital to continue development around the downtown Greensboro stadium.
